First Rule in Fighting Burglars: Buying Time
When it comes to home security, we can never say "it can never be opened" for any door. Theoretically, a thief with enough time, heavy industrial equipment, and the freedom to make noise can overcome any obstacle. However, in real life, thieves do not have these opportunities. They must be silent and finish the job in seconds. This is exactly where the duty of a quality steel door begins: To make the thief lose time and give up.
Statistics show that if a thief cannot open the door within 3 minutes, they leave that door for fear of being caught. The doors we produce are designed to push this time much higher. This resistance plays a vital role in your home security. So, how do we provide this protection shield?
What is RC3 Security Certificate?
RC (Resistance Class) resistance classes determined according to European standards certify the security of the door. An RC3 class door shows resistance for at least 20 minutes against attacks made with professional theft tools such as crowbars, screwdrivers, wedges, and pliers. This time is a huge amount of time for a thief and a risk that cannot be taken.
The Weakest Link: Cylinder Lock (Barrel)
80% of theft incidents occur by breaking the door's cylinder lock. The part of a standard lock sticking out can be squeezed and broken with a pipe wrench. To prevent this, we use "Barrel Armor" (Steel Rosette). This armor is a housing made of hardened steel that completely encloses the lock cylinder. It cannot be drilled or cut. Since the thief cannot reach the lock, the attempt to open the door fails before it even starts.
Frame and Sash Integrity
Not only the lock, but also the non-stretching of the frame is important. Concrete filling between the frame and the wall and the use of hook lock systems make it impossible to pry the door with a crowbar. Remember, security is a chain and it is only as strong as its weakest link.
